Precautions for burning high activity lime in industrial lime kilns
When firing high activity lime in industrial lime kilns, multiple key points need to be considered to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
The selection of raw materials is crucial. High quality limestone with high calcium content and low impurities should be selected, which is the basis for firing high activity lime. Before entering the kiln, strict screening and cleaning of limestone should be carried out to remove soil, impurities, etc., ensuring the purity of the raw materials.
Temperature control needs to be precise. The firing of high activity lime requires a suitable temperature range, and temperatures that are too high or too low can affect the activity of lime. It is necessary to closely monitor the temperature inside the kiln and stabilize the temperature within the optimal range by adjusting parameters such as fuel supply and air volume.
The calcination time should be appropriate. The calcination time is too short, and the limestone decomposition is incomplete; If the time is too long, it may lead to the growth of lime grains and a decrease in activity. A reasonable calcination time should be determined based on the characteristics of the lime kiln and the condition of the raw materials.
Ventilation conditions cannot be ignored either. Good ventilation can ensure sufficient oxygen in the kiln, allowing for full combustion of fuel, and also facilitating the timely discharge of carbon dioxide produced by limestone decomposition.
Regular maintenance and overhaul of the lime kiln should be carried out to ensure the normal operation of the equipment and avoid affecting the quality of lime firing due to equipment failure.
