Common Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting Manual for Lime Kiln
The stable operation of lime kilns is crucial for ensuring product quality and production efficiency. This manual aims to provide operators with a quick diagnosis and troubleshooting guide for common faults.
1、 Abnormal kiln temperature
Fault phenomenon: The temperature inside the kiln is too low or fluctuates greatly, and there is an increase in raw or over burned materials.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting:
Check whether the supply pressure and flow rate of fuel (coal powder/coal gas) are stable and sufficient.
Check the air supply system to confirm if the air volume and pressure match, and if the valve opening is appropriate.
Observe the shape and color of the flame to determine if the burner is blocked or damaged.
Exclusion measures: Adjust the fuel to air ratio to the optimal state; Clean or replace faulty burners; Stable feed rate and particle size.
2、 Damaged kiln lining
Fault phenomenon: The local temperature of the kiln body is abnormally high, the kiln skin is red, or there are refractory brick fragments in the slag.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting: Regularly monitor the temperature of the kiln wall through a kiln body scanner or infrared thermometer. Inspect the wear, peeling, or erosion of the kiln lining during kiln maintenance.
Exclusion measures: Spray or dig up local damage; If the damage is severe, the kiln needs to be shut down for extensive or complete replacement of the kiln lining.
3、 Tumor formation, ring formation
Fault phenomenon: The ventilation resistance inside the kiln increases, the material movement is not smooth, and the output decreases.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting: Determine through abnormal fluctuations in parameters such as kiln tail negative pressure and host current. Usually caused by fluctuations in raw material composition, improper temperature control, or excessive harmful impurities.
Exclusion measures: Stabilize the raw material ratio and operating temperature. The "rapid cooling and rapid heating" method can be used to treat slight ring formation; In severe cases, the kiln needs to be stopped and manually cleaned.
4、 Unloading system malfunction
Fault phenomenon: Uneven, unsmooth or completely stuck discharge.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting: Check whether the unloading tray, ratchet, or hydraulic push rod mechanisms are worn, deformed, or obstructed by foreign objects. Confirm if the lubrication is good.
Exclusion measures: Remove foreign objects from the blockage; Replace severely worn components; Ensure regular and appropriate lubrication.
In daily operations, we should adhere to the principle of "prevention first", strengthen inspections, closely monitor changes in various operating parameters, and achieve early detection and treatment in order to ensure the long-term, efficient, and safe operation of the lime kiln.
