Emission Standards and Treatment Technologies for Waste Gas from Lime Plants

During the lime production process, the main waste gas pollutants are dust (particulate matter) and sulfur dioxide (SO ₂), which need to be strictly controlled to ensure environmental quality.

Emission Standards and Treatment Technologies for Waste Gas from Lime Plants

1、 Emission standards

According to the national "Comprehensive Emission Standards for Air Pollutants" (GB 16297-1996) and other regulations, the particulate matter emission concentration limit for newly built lime kilns is generally 30mg/m ³, and the sulfur dioxide limit is 200mg/m ³. Some regions implement stricter special emission limits, such as 10mg/m ³ for particulate matter. Enterprises need to comply with the specific requirements of the local environmental protection department.

2、 Governance technology

Dust control: High efficiency bag filters are mainly used, with a capture efficiency of over 99% for fine particles. The technology is mature and reliable, making it the preferred choice for dust control. Electric dust collectors also have applications.

Sulfur dioxide treatment: mainly adopts dry/semi dry desulfurization technology, such as spraying alkaline absorbents such as quicklime into the flue gas, reacting to generate calcium sulfate, and the desulfurization efficiency can reach over 80%. This method has a simple process, relatively low investment and operating costs, and is suitable for the working conditions of lime plants.

Collaborative governance: Typically, a combination process of "cyclone dust removal+bag dust removal" or "desulfurization tower+bag dust removal" is used to achieve synergistic and efficient purification of multiple pollutants.

Lime plants need to use economically efficient treatment technologies based on regulatory standards and their own process characteristics to ensure stable and compliant emissions of waste gases and promote green and sustainable development of the industry.
