Lime kiln lining is a key component for ensuring stable operation of the kiln body and controlling energy consumption. Timely judgment of whether it needs major repairs is crucial for production safety and cost control. It can be comprehensively judged from the following aspects:
Visual inspection
Regularly conduct kiln shutdown inspections. If large areas of peeling and cracks are found on the surface of the kiln lining, with a depth exceeding 5 centimeters, or severe bulging and deformation are found locally, it indicates that the kiln lining structure has been severely damaged and cannot continue to effectively protect the kiln body, requiring major repairs.
thickness measurement
Use a professional thickness gauge to regularly check the thickness of the kiln lining. When the thickness of the kiln lining wears down to less than one-third of its original thickness, its insulation and fire resistance performance significantly decreases, and continued use can easily lead to high kiln body temperature, affecting equipment life. At this time, a major overhaul should be arranged to replace the kiln lining.
Analysis of operating parameters
Pay close attention to operating parameters such as temperature and pressure inside the kiln. If the temperature inside the kiln rises abnormally and cannot be effectively controlled after adjusting the fuel and air volume, it is likely that the insulation performance of the kiln lining has deteriorated and heat is lost too quickly; Abnormal pressure fluctuations inside the kiln, or damage to the kiln lining leading to turbulent airflow, suggest that the kiln lining needs major repairs.
Historical maintenance records
Refer to the service life and past maintenance situation of the kiln lining. Generally speaking, after 3-5 years of use, the performance of kiln lining will gradually decline. If the previous maintenance was frequent but the effect was not satisfactory, a comprehensive overhaul should be considered.
