Control standard for moisture content of lime kiln raw materials
The moisture content of raw materials for lime production (such as limestone, dolomite, etc.) is a key factor affecting the thermal system and product quality inside the kiln. Scientifically controlling the moisture content of raw materials can not only improve the activity of lime, but also reduce energy consumption and equipment loss.
1、 The influence of moisture content on lime kiln
When the moisture content of raw materials is too high, the evaporation of water requires a large amount of thermal energy, resulting in temperature fluctuations inside the kiln and increasing fuel consumption; Meanwhile, the steam formed by the evaporation of water may condense on the surface of refractory materials, accelerating their peeling and shortening the lifespan of the kiln body. On the contrary, if the moisture content is too low, it may cause dust to fly, deteriorate the working environment, and increase the cost of raw material pretreatment.
2、 Reasonable moisture content control standard
According to industry experience, the suitable moisture content of lime kiln raw materials should be controlled between 1.5% and 3.0%. Specific standards need to be adjusted based on the characteristics of raw materials, kiln type, and climate conditions
Raw materials with larger particle size (such as block limestone) can be appropriately relaxed to 2.5% -3.0%, as their internal water evaporation path is longer;
Fine powder raw materials (such as limestone powder) should be strictly controlled at 1.5% -2.0% to prevent agglomeration and dust;
During the rainy season or in humid environments, pre drying equipment (such as dryers) should be used to reduce the moisture content of raw materials entering the kiln.
3、 Measures for controlling moisture content
Enterprises should establish a mechanism for detecting the moisture content of raw materials and use a rapid moisture meter for real-time monitoring; At the same time, optimize the management of raw material storage and reduce natural water absorption through measures such as rain shelters and moisture-proof mats. By precisely controlling the moisture content, efficient and stable operation of lime kilns can be achieved, helping enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency.
